Australian legendary Collingwood footballer, sports broadcaster and entertainer, Lou Richards passed away today at the age of 94. Collingwood Football Club described Richards as a pioneer, legend and icon, saying Richards and his family would “forever be a part of the Collingwood story”. A larger than life larrikin Richards was instrumental in forging the AFL panel shows we see today. He played for Collingwood for 15 years, appeared on Seven’s World of Sport, League Teams and over to Nine for Wide World of Sports and Sports Sunday. The Victorian Premier labelled him a “Victorian icon”.
